Welcome to One More Frenchie, North Carolina French Bulldogs!
We focus on three main things: complete health testing (to avoid the avoidable), proper AKC breed structure for gorgeous dogs and the classic Frenchie temperament (sassy, silly, lazy clowns). We breed the total package! Our Frenchies are small (19-29lbs), with nice compact structure, and adorable squishy faces. We are an experienced breeder located in the Charlotte, NC area. Our goal is to preserve the breed integrity through selective breedings of healthy & beautiful dogs.
We know it is tempting to shop to try and find that cheaper puppy with zero real heath testing but bargain priced Frenchie puppies can often end up being the most expensive Frenchies out there over the course of their lifetime (special food, health issues, allergies, vet visits, surgeries, etc.) We understand these dogs are undoubtedly expensive (and for good reason) but trust me when we say there is no such thing as a bargain Frenchie. Dogs can have very expensive health issues which is why we make real health evaluations of our dogs a priority. All breeding dogs are health checked and/or X-rayed at the appropriate ages (hip, knees, elbows, heart, spine). We also do a genetic testing panel for the breed. These genetic DNA tests (the one many breeders like to call health testing and are often the extent of their evaluations) are useful but definitely not comprehensive physical health evaluations. These tests are mainly useful for breeding purposes and we don't believe they alone are comprehensive enough to indicate an overall picture of health in a Frenchie. Corrective surgeries later in life can be very, very expensive and the number #1 reason Frenchies (and other breeds) ever end up in rescues! We will not breed any dogs that show signs of allergies or require a special prescription diet either. That can be a huge lifetime expense! We believe both types of testing (genetic & physical) are best. You as a new pet owner should know that the puppy you are purchasing will have the best start possible in life.
We ONLY breed colors that are recognized by the AKC for Frenchies- brindle, cream, fawn and pied.
This means we do NOT breed any new fad colors (other breeds mixed with Frenchies) -
examples are merle, tan points, lilac, chocolate, fluffy (long-haired) dogs
or any others that are NOT recognized by the AKC as a pure bred French Bulldog.
We simply aren't looking to create a more expensive dog with an even wider variety of new health concerns.
